Promo and Event Models
A promotional model is a model is the one hired for to drive-in consumer demands
for a product, service, brand, or concept by directly interacting with potential
consumers. Promo and events have become a very important part of all brand development
exercise. A vast majority of promotional models typically tend to be very attractive
in terms of their physical appearance. They serve to provide first-hand information
about the product or service and make it look appealing to the consumers. While
the length of interaction may be short, the promotional model delivers a live experience
that reflects on the product or service he or she is representing.
What actually a Promo or Event Model Does?
Promo or event models are deployed to attract the audience towards a certain product
in an event or promotional exercise. Although this form of marketing reaches to
a fewer consumers when in comparison to the traditional advertising media (such
as print, radio, and television), but it’s better as the consumer's perception of
a brand, product, service, or company, is often more profoundly affected by a live
person-to-person experience. The influence of this type of marketing may be more
enduring as well.
Ideally promotional models often interact with many people at once to maximize quantitative
influence on consumer demand. While each model may not be directly employed by the
company they represent, they are trained to answer questions and provide customer
feedback regarding products, services and brand appeal.
The requirements for becoming a good Promo/Event Model
In most case promo or event modeling is more than just standing and smiling. The
sessions often are interactive where a model is expected to answer to various queries
or is liable to make some well-rehearsed speech about the product or event. The
speaking time is often very small but makes an important part of event or promo
modeling. Hence a promo model must be good at public speaking other than being presentable
The responsibilities of the promotional model depends on the particular marketing
campaign being carrying out, and may include: increasing product awareness; providing
product information; creating an association in the consumer's mind between the
product or brand and a particular idea (natural beauty, classic heritage, edgy sex
appeal, reliability); handing items to consumers, such as a sample of the product
itself, a small gift, or printed information.
